weeds and other forgotten items

Its been some full, beautiful days over here. Photogenic days full of sunshine and gangs of toddlers running through open fields and climbing hay bales and wallowing in the mud on the edge of the river. My gleeful boy released from the confines of winter boots and deep snow and into spring where the sand on the river bank is warm and the birds are filling the sky and the grass is peeking up so green and "beeafull." So many wonderful photos to be taken, but somehow I just keep forgetting my camera. And so here are a couple shots from a few days back before the warmer weather, but at least there is a hint of green here, even if that green is weeds. Ari is carrying a few we pulled from the newly thawed garden beds that somehow already have an impressive cover crop of chickweed.
The chickens would be happy to taste that bit of green if only some mama would put down her camera and help this baby tip the bucket over the fence. Don't put it down for too long though, or you'll miss something.
