Some terrific fun was had at Dorian's pirate party this weekend. The weather was incredible and all the kids dug into their costume boxes (and many of their parents too!) and came dressed up and ready. The little pirates had fun playing on the pallet pirate ship, hopping about in the burlap sack races, and following the treasure map and clues around the property to find a treasure chest buried in the garden. I think Perry and I had as much fun setting it all up! And Dorian was thrilled with it all. Friends brought wonderful simple trinkets and treasure (including that not so simple but amazing ship some friends found at the reuse shed!) and there was enough chocolate on the cake to allow the non-GAPS guests to still enjoy the cake. Yes, that was fun indeed.
Shiver me timbers, what a fearsome group! I love that the parents were as enthusiastic as the children, it certainly provides a wonderful example for them. And your cake with the peg dolls is soooooo sweet, er, loathsome, matey! Love love love it. Happy birthing day, Taisa.
