We had Ari's birthday party this weekend (endless celebrations around here- that will be the third cake he's had in the past week- which is one for each year. We can't keep up that tradition!) and it was good fun. The weather was lovely and the kiddos had fun playing outside and in the big house. It's pretty nice to have the big house on the property to host gatherings in, our little house would have felt a wee bit cozy I think.
Ari had originally asked for a "train party," but thankfully seemed to forget this as we got closer to the actual event. Someday maybe I'll get into the themed party thing, but I was not feeling at all inspired. We wanted a low key and fun little gathering, and it worked out just fine.
I did organize a craft for the kids- they painted doweling and wooden beads for ribbon streamers and it worked out well. They had fun dancing around with them once they were assembled. Most of those pictures are just colourful blurs. And Ari got spoiled up nicely- the largest gift is shown above- some friends found this handmade wooden crane at our dump's free store (also known as "the mall") and fixed it up for him. It is currently taking up a good portion of our living room, but we're good with that. Much fun is being had.
Sunday was wind-down day. Spring cleaning inside and spring gardening outside. A very fine weekend. Hope you all had a good one too.
Happy birthday to Ari!! It looks like you had a great day out in the fresh air and sunshine!
